Chef, author, and food activist, Ric Orlando has been at the forefront of the local/sustainable food movement in the Hudson Valley for nearly two decades. He has often appeared on the national stage, including three appearances on the Food Network's runaway hit CHOPPED™, winning his first appearance "Wok This Way." Judge Mark Murphy declared Ric's Rum-Raisin Jerk Quail "the best thing I have eaten on Chopped!" Chef Ric was selected to appear on the very first CHOPPED CHAMPIONS where he also won in the playoff round, wowing the judges.

A 2-time SANTÉ™ Award Winner, Chef Ric and his two restaurants have won numerous accolades ranging from Metroland Weekly's Top 3 Vegetarian to the NY Beef Council's Best Burger in the Capital Region – in the same year! New World Home Cooking Co., co-owned by Chef Ric's wife and partner Liz Corrado, opened in 1993 and is a community landmark in the Hudson Valley. New World Bistro Bar, an Albany Gastro-Pub, has consistently received local BEST-OF awards. In September 2014, New World Catering by Ric Orlando opened a tasting and catering kitchen in Albany, as Chef Ric won the title of Hudson Valley Magazine's "Best Chef."
